Music News

Love Ssega

Following a successful tour of Asia and receiving BPI Music Export Growth support (alongside musician Dave), Love Ssega returns with “DEFIANT”, his second 7-track EP of 2019 and hot on the heels of its release DJ Heavyweight Lauren Laverne has already given Ssega her seal of approval by giving radio support and playing song “Overcome” on ever-popular BBC 6Music Breakfast show.

The musician is back with a soul-funk, dance-rock sandwich to scintillate those eardrums, and has managed to fit in 12 months of touring whilst producing his new EP. He's been around for a hot minute, having played a huge part in Clean Bandits humble beginnings and has even collaborated with Olugbenga Adelekan from Metronomy and Jack Savidge from Friendly Fires.

Love Ssega makes a surprise return with track “Cloudhead” available from his forthcoming EP titled “Defiant”. The EP comes hot of the heels following 12 months of touring Europe and Asia where Ssega has also been collaborating with rural ethnic music masters in South West China. ‘Cloudhead’ continues to push the bar with his signature style of mixing genres and fusing soul, funk, and dance-rock to make the people dance!

Explaining the EP Love Ssega says “My last EP really felt like a rocket up my back in a big way. I’ve got my swagger back! People are finally discovering my character, and as a self-producing artist, I feel people are finally seeing what magic I can create”.
