Casablanca launches in the UK

Fashion News

Parisian menswear label Casablanca is launching in stores in the UK this month following two successful runway shows. This week the brand will launch with drops at Browns, Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, and END. Clothing.

The menswear label under the creative direction of designer Charaf Tajer continues to design lines using rich silks, warm cashmere, and prints, fusing Charaf's background with a cultural twist. This season the aesthetic is a fuse between lux and leisurewear.

French-Moroccan founder Charaf Tajer's creative and cultural background is pinned throughout the AW19 collection as he continues to draw inspiration from his architect and tailor heritage. In his early work, Tajer notes "I was designing and customising clothes I couldn't buy then, what I'd see on the cover of an album, a jacket I saw in a movie - I always had access to a tailor." His accolades are impressive where he had found himself consulting for brands like Nike, Supreme, and Off-White.

The inspiration for Casablanca is from the well-dressed man who loses himself not in a basement, but seeing the world, haunting airport lounges and hotel suites.

Casablanca has quickly drawn admiration from celebrities such as Travis Scott, Gigi Hadid, Skepta and most recently Anderson Paak who was spotted wearing their silk printed shirt and tennis shorts during his performance at Made in America Festival.

The AW19 collection Midnight at Casablanca continues with digital print opulent fabrics, where the illustrious colours of the city are illuminated by a bright constellation of stars. The label is dedicated to Tajer's parents in ode to the place they met and fell in love, at an atelier in the fashion district of Casablanca.
