The infamous LOEWE Puzzle Bag has been re-imagined this season

First introduced in the Fall/Winter 2024 collection, LOEWE draws the eye downward — toward the layered richness of the land — with the introduction of its Landscape series. Debuted as part of the pre-collection, the capsule reflects the house’s ongoing dialogue between nature, sculpture, and material mastery. At the heart of the collection lies a reverent study of topography, where rock strata and coastal formations are reimagined through the lens of luxury leatherwork.

This season marks the first time the iconic Puzzle bag is rendered in this new geological language. Originally designed by Jonathan Anderson as a feat of modular elegance, the Puzzle now takes on a more tactile and expressive form. Its geometric planes are overlaid with colourful bands of leather, each shade subtly shifting into the next. The effect is one of crafted depth and quiet movement, echoing the natural formations that inspired the collection.

Also joining the Landscape family are new iterations of the Flamenco Clutch and a range of small leather goods — from cardholders to compact wallets — each bearing the same layered and striated aesthetic. The palette flows from earthy neutrals to mineral hues, inviting touch as much as attention.

At LOEWE’s atelier, the creation of these pieces involves a choreography of craft. Contrasting leather sections are cut, arranged, and compressed to form undulating compositions reminiscent of topographical maps or weather-worn stone. Each panel is then skived, a refined artisanal process that delicately pares down the leather’s surface to reveal what lies beneath. This unveiling of tone and texture creates a sculptural illusion, with edges softened and contoured by the artisan’s hand.
