With the resumption of international travel, intimate, meaningful, safe travel experiences that are private remain the focus of the new emerging traveller.

Gone is the eagerness to book the all-inclusive five-star that boasts hundreds of rooms; now, it is about escape and relaxation in private sanctuaries close to immersive experiences.

Set in the heart of the jungle with an outstanding balance of tranquil beach moments, Suites Tulum is a bustling paradise in the Quintana Roo area of Mexico. Here you will find an experienced worldly traveller who relishes in the morning Yoga routine and hikes of the wilderness, just as much as enjoying unique fine dining encounters at their feet.

The undisturbed eco-chic, sustainable property is set amongst a secret plot of land, a mere 30 metres from the unspoiled crystal waters of the Tulum beaches. The entrance is perfectly nondescript yet inviting and lies on the quiet part of the busy strip. Blink, and you will miss it like a mirage.

Lively outdoor jungle clubs are a stone's throw for those seeking excitement, yet you are entirely undisturbed within this visceral, intimate paradise. The haven is ideal for those seeking some privacy away from the boutique hotel scene that is alive in the area and perfect for those wanting the adventure of the Yucatan jungle at their feet. The environment is inviting for those with families wanting to escape the troubles they left at home, the lone traveller seeking re-enlightenment or young professional searching for a slice of paradise. There is also an option for larger groups to book the entire complex, which is the perfect place to strip back from those stressors and immerse yourself in the wilderness.

carefully placed stone bricks are the main feature of some of their eco-conscious rooms

The property boasts five private apartment rooms and is a mere two-minute walk from the beach. The nearest airport is Cozumel; however, it is easily accessible from Cancun. The suites are distinctive in Mexican design, be that from the stonewashed minimalist walls, the timbers on the ceilings or carefully placed palm-thatched roofs. The inviting private jungle courtyard is a welcome reminder that you are indeed in paradise, whilst the expansive rooftop terrace, equipped with a beautiful wooden spiral staircase, provides depth and mystique to the property.

Each property is unique; some include spacious outdoor porch areas influenced by the eclectic yet calming Italian Borgo's. Others offer views to their decadent gardens, where you are close to nature and can immerse yourself in the wilderness of your jungle surroundings.

With the increase in tourism, Tulum has unfortunately seen a surging demand for air conditioning; this has in some places encouraged the introduction of generators that indeed affect the wildlife inhabitants to this paradise. Suites Tulum have managed to continue their path of sustainability and the protection of wildlife and the jungle by utilising eco-efficient solar panels. Most rooms include air-con that run from 7am - 7pm, and all have ceiling fans and mosquito nets.

All suites are modern yet artistic in ambience, providing a home from home experience. The furnishing is thoughtfully laid out, with vignette embellishments and fine wood details scattered throughout this charming yet inviting complex. Expect to find natural tree trunks supporting your locally crafted hand-carved side table, thatched mirrors and intricately placed bricks that are the key focus of the rooms.

WIFI is available, some rooms include a kitchen, and all have a sofa, dining area, refrigerator, and fresh beach towels that are replenished daily. Sit back on your balcony terrace, taking in the views with your morning coffee or afternoon Cerveza. You are encouraged not to use electrical devices such as hair dryers and mobile phones to help protect and preserve the local area.

A wooden staircase and balcony are found in some apartments at the feet of the jungle

On-site, the featured wooden spiral staircase leads up to an intimate rooftop terrace, the focal place to watch the evening sunset to the backdrop of the jungle. Kick back in a hammock or share a bottle of wine and look up at the stars. Below a jungle patio sits in the private courtyard with an enticing fabulous plunge pool. The pool is indeed one of the most eye-capturing features of the property, perfect for relaxing and cooling off during those humid days. Suites Tulum provide guests with the option to relax and unwind by your room or hit the main street, as remember do not let the tranquil surroundings trick you, as you are indeed steps away from enjoying the sprawling beach, restaurants and bars the hotel zone has to offer.

Suites Tulum is ideally located for travel to the nearby Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO world heritage site home to the world's most impressive flora and fauna. The Tulum Archaeological Zone is a mere 20 minutes away, where you can expect to find ancient Mayan ruins, temples, and Ruins. Nearby cenotes or freshwater pools are scattered in close vicinity to the complex.
